INGREDIENTS:
3 cups water
4 cinnamon sticks, broken in half lengthwise
3 1/2 tbsp. brown sugar
3 tbsp. ground espresso or Mexican coffee
Cinnamon sticks for garnish
PREPARATION:

Combine water and cinnamon sticks, bringing to boil over high heat. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer 3-4 minutes.
Stir in sugar and simmer briefly until dissolved. Raise heat and bring to boil.
Stir in coffee and simmer 1 minute. Remove from heat.
Let sit 2 to 3 minutes, allowing coffee to steep.
Strain and pour into two mugs.
Serve with fresh cinnamon sticks.
Makes 2 servings
